July Fourth Extension

In another unanimous vote, the Wingerter's Crossing City Council saw fit to stick it to the railroad. This after the discovering a loop hole in the WHBL employment contract that read:

"... all employees shall be given only one week of vacation to be exercised exclusively during the week of July 4th."

Council voted to rename the month of January as July. This move gives all railroad employees two weeks of vacation.

Council member, Chris P. Bacon was quoted as saying, "This railroad is out of control. Last year they derailed a livestock car filled with wild pigs. Right behind that was a car filled with grease. You get the idea. We spent the next two weeks cornering those beasts, and where was the railroad? Yeah, this decision is going to hurt those fat cats, and I still say GOOD!"

Railroad officials planned to challenge the absurd vote, but as with most disputes, the company was forced to agree when city council threatened to cut the electrical cords (which rest squarely on city property) that power the railroad's transformers.
